I thought I would come out of this book feeling enamored with the romance of Rafe and Alisha. That did not happen!This isn't a love story or a story of redemption. Both main characters are erratic, doing things there are wildly out of character. Rafe in particular, drew no sympathy with his boorish behavior. Alisha for all of her education was hopelessly juvenile.I love everything else by this author but this ones a miss for me.
I really enjoyed Alisha and Rafe's story. She made it hard for that brother, but their journey was an interesting one.So much to love in this one: the boys were adorable, and the scene where we see that the Michael Jackson has been passed on to the next generation was the cutest. Wilma continues to slay me with her love for the latest in hooker fashion. Nice to see Janelle and Mags!I was surprised and a little sad to see such drastic changes in Tu, and am so curious to see what has happened to her. The good thing about discovering a series after it was released is that you don't have to wait for the next book. So you already know Tu's story is up next! ðŸ˜
I finished this book yesterday and I'm still thinking about it. Theordora Taylor really came full circle with this one. I read Book One and left a not too stellar review, but book Two was phenomenal!!! There was tons of action and plentiful, incredible, earth shattering love scenes. I loved Her Viking Wolf and in Book Two (Wolf and Prejudice) you find out what happened to Chloe and Fenris. Alisha was a favorite character of mine. I was glad to see her personality really come out in this book. There were some truly hilarious moments in the book that made me laugh out loud, and some really touching moments that made you just want to cry for Alisha's and Rafe's lost love.Pregnant Alisha disappears in a time portal after a misunderstanding, thinking that she had been played and tricked into mating with Rafe. A grievious, heart-broken Rafe 5 years later decided to go after her through the time portal not knowing if he could or would ever find her. But he does. His plan was to bring her back and have his revenge on her for leaving him and disappearing his unborn child. But once he gets Alisha back his plan goes to pot. He is confused and his feelings are trapped somewhere between hate and love.Ms.Taylor did an excellent job portraying how both Alisha and Rafe felt about their mateship, and how they both suffered over the past 5 years. ***SPOILER ALERT*** Rafe had no idea that Alisha gave birth to triplets. When he got back to Chloe and Fenris' era to retrieve Alisha, there were several men who wanted to challenge him for the right to mate with her. Rafe is a bad somebody! What he did to those men was crazy!!!It think that Alisha and Rafe's love story was the best out of all three couples, even better than Chloe and Fenris, which is really saying something. READ THIS SERIES!!!!! You will not be disappointed. Theodora Taylor even inputs her real self into this book as a character well. Super good read!!!
Look, I'm not one for reading about werewolves nor Vikings at all. Up until now the only book I had and read was Her Viking Wolf by Ms. Taylor and looooved it. Her humor, how she describes us ABGs (awkward black girls) cracked me up. I was Not interested in reading anymore, honestly I wasn't but I was in between books and pick this one to read and man I'm happy I did. The humor, the characters, my favorite part is the main characters traveling back in time to Viking age and visiting my other fav characters Chloe and Fenris and having to battle the Vikings, and of course the authors appearance in the book was so fun. Loved it.
This book is just sad and leaves me with a bad feeling. It's all about punishment. And I hate the idea of her running off in time for 5 years, and the way Rafe treats Alisha is deplorable. It's just a lot of abuse, and Alisha taking it without any fight. He didn't even treat her well before they were mated. I can't like a romance story when the girl is treated like crap, and it's in the guise of love.
In Her Viking Wolf, Rafe and Chloe were supposed to be fated mates, until Chloe ran off with her real fated mate, the Viking and went back in time to live happily ever after. What we didn't know is that all this time we felt that Rafe was upset because she'd left him, he was actually upset because he had feelings for her best friend and Alaskan princess Alisha. Alisha knowing she was next in line to be put on the wedding block by her father, did everything in her power to see that it wouldn't happen, but the fates had another plan in store. Alisha and Rafe mate during Alisha's heat, and she runs, she actually runs back in time with Chloe and her Viking Wolf. 5 years later Rafe's still beyond mad so mad that he finds the spell and goes back in time to get her! But Alisha pregnant when she left, has a little surprise for Rafe when he gets there. Once back in the present, Rafe does everything he can to make Alisha pay for her betrayal of him, but what they really see is that they really were fated mates. This too was an okay read but still no big exciting dramatic end
